Yup, its about Lynas again. I know some of you out there are getting tired of hearing me parroting about this issue. Shooo, go elsewhere if you only want to read all those rosy stuffs. Here, you will have to put up with my not so rosy writings about the goings on in my life and the happenenings around me. Well, it is MY blog after all, kannnnnn?
For those of you readers who are still in the vague about what is this Lynas thingy that I am harping about, please go read here. A well researched and comprehensive factual write up about why we the people in Kuantan are soooo against the opening of this plant here.
It is not only us in Kuantan who are against this dangerous and hazardous plant opening here, but the people in Australia are apprehensive too of the safety of the ore and raw materials that will be transported from Mount Weld to Freemantle. Read about their objections to this here.
We, the people of Kuantan, comprising mainly of apolitical public who are mainly concerned about the safety and wellbeing of our children and our future generation came together as one under Save Malaysia to set up an action comittee. Headed by one Vincent Jiam who is married to Serena Hee, they both run a montessori at Jalan Air Putih. They, of all people knows the value of a child's life, a child's health, as they deal with children everyday in their capacity as a montessori owner.
So, tomorrow, Friday the 20th of May 2;30pm, we will be organising a Solidarity Walk from KLCC to the Australia High Commision to hand over a memorandum, pleading (yes, I say pleading) that the Australian government would step in to talk to Lynas (who has refused to talk to us!). We are hoping that our plea will not be falling on deaf ears this time round. For those of you who are around KL area, do come and support us in our plight to stop this dangerous plant from taking up residence here in Kuantan.
Datanglah beramai-ramai yer. Jangan kasi malu orang Malaysia.
So, people, see you tomorrow at Taman Suria KLCC! If possible come in black t-shirt as a show of mourning over the fate of our small town here in East Coast. Come, help us. We need all the support that we can get!

9 verses:
I wish I had taken the afternoon off for tomorrow, so I could join you, dear Ahan and brave people. Thank you, thank you. I salute you for your moral courage. Wishing you every success.
Co'78,
The truth is, we are scared! Been warned if the water canons, police brutality and such. But it is something that we have to do, for our children's future, for their well being.
Pray for us. For our safety. For our success....
Thanks for your support...
