I know I wrote about cows up there. But I like cats hokkayy?
As uolls know, if you have been reading my past posts, MNS Pahang will be having a trail restoration project at the jungle trail behing the Taman Teruntum Zoo on the 28th November, 2pm - 6pm. Its a joint project with Cargill (M) Sdn. Bhd. as part of their CSR.
So, basic groundwork has been done. Thank you Mr. Lee Wai Hoong, Jean Wong and Cikgu Chin Wai Fatt for doing the recce with me a few times! Basic paperwork has also been done. Thank you Mee Foong, our loyal Secretary who does ALL the paperwork efficiently. Now its the nitty gritty details yang memeningkan kepala sikit. Pending now, is getting the people from Jabatan Hutan to come and identify the species of trees that we wanna tag. That is supposed to be under Zela's responsibility, but gotta remind her too, lest she forgets!
Then, there's the problem of getting chainsaws with its operators! We need at least three chainsaws to clear the huge fallen logs on the trails. There are about 7-8 humungous trunks of logs across our trail. During the recce exercise, we had to climb over them to proceed on the trail, but if parents were to bring their kids up there, climbing over them logs would not be a safe options, as some of them are in the stage of rotting already!
what would happen if we operate the chainsaws ourselves....
Anyway, En. Ramli Awang of Unit Taman dan Lanskap MPK, has assured us that he will try to help us out by asking his people assist us. Still waiting for that phone call from him!
Then, there is the t-shirt for the participants to deal with. Initially we have been instructed by them to order t-shirts with collar for this project. After submitting style and design, they decided to without collar and asked us to tone down the green so as not to glow in the jungle. So the end product will be something like this....
cantik tak?
A big hug and a bunch of thanx to Wen Tan who did the design for us. You have always been someone we can rely on when it comes to designing our tees! Will keep one for you, as a token of our appreciation darling.
Food for hi-tea will be under the responsibility of Aaleema and Fidah. These cousins are always put in charge of refreshment because they know where to get good food. Gurls, make sure we knock them off their feet with our selection of mee hoon siam, popiah goreng and teh tarik, okay?
For VIP, we have been instructed to invite YB Chang Hong Seong, again. The Cargill people were impressed that he was such a laid back kinda person who could eat with them tepi the longkang during our Tree Planting Project at Eplanade Tanjung Api. Kudos to you YB for being such a rakyat person at heart!
there's our YB Chang, planting trees with us in the last project....
So, Shikin, please be on standby to alert Press once YB accepts our invitation formally, yer? I've spoken to him already the other day, and basically he has agreed to grace our event. Just waiting for his black and white reply jer now.
Apart from that, I really do hope that everything else will go smoothly, no hiccups and no problem. If you people happen to be free on that Monday, do come over and join us at Taman Teruntum for a spot of trail restoration and some exercise too!
Till my next posting, ciaoooo!
Have a great weekend okay? I know I will.......

YB Chang memang very friendly.
Kalau Dato Ti Liang Ker pun..they all ni semua tak sombong..:D
mamasita,
my brand of humour, sometimes people call it dark humour!
Yes, YB chang is a very nice person..... kan?
The cartoon was dead gruesome, woii!!!
I love how you've rejuvenated MNS Pahang and made it so active and hip. We must get more people to do more hands-on work for the environment.
CO'78,
Hehehehe.... I like gruesome cartoon. There's a sadist in me, dying to get out!
Thank you for thinking we in Pahang are hip! Not as hip as Selangor though. Yes, hands-on kinda work with the environment is crucial rather than just spewing out theories and ideas....
